Keith Andrew McFarlane III

It is with deep sadness that we share on January 23rd, 2023, Keith Andrew McFarlane III, also known as “Drew”, passed away at 23 years young after a tragic car accident coming down from Big Bear Mountain.

Drew McFarlane is survived by his parents, Keith and Tara McFarlane, his loving sisters, Rebeckka and Sara McFarlane, and the family dog he dearly loved, “Carly”.

Drew was born May 15th, 1999 to Keith and Tara McFarlane in Fort Pierce, Florida. He spent a majority of his childhood growing up in Fort Pierce until the family moved to Vero Beach, Florida when he was in middle school. Drew spent his childhood playing every sport he could get his hands on. He was a star on baseball, football, soccer, lacrosse, track, and even diving teams all while excelling in his primary school education. His other hobbies included free dive spearfishing, wakeboarding, dancing, cooking, and playing video games. In high school, Drew found his new obsession- BMX. From 13 years old, Drew dedicated thousands of hours into mastering tricks on his bike and filming BMX edits with his friends. He went on to compete and excel in contests such as the Florida BMX Series, placing 2nd overall for his division in 2015.

After Drew’s BMX chapter and graduating high school, he worked for his uncle’s painting business and a local seafood restaurant for many years. In the fall of 2022, Drew decided to kindle his next new hobby and dream life adventure- snowboarding. Drew made the inspiring and bold move across the country to start a new life in the beautiful mountains of Big Bear, California. There he worked on the ski resort as a lift operator up until his accident.

Drew is an inspiration to many for his fearlessly driven personality and his generous heart. His way of showing love to the people he was close to was to spoil them with personal gifts and food. He wore his heart on his sleeve and was constantly thinking of others before himself. Drew was filled with courage and a larger-than-life personality. With the brightest smile a person could have, he is a reminder to always have fun in everything you do and live life to the absolute fullest.
