Jonathan James Davis
Our Jonny was born on January 20, 1980 (Super Bowl Sunday) at Kaiser Hospital in Fontana California. His brother Jason could not wait to see his new baby brother. He was our youngest son, a very quiet boy and loved to play with his army men, and watch cartoons especially Mister Rogers. He loved to play with legos and collect comic books. He said from a very early age that he wanted to be a fireman. He was a boy scout and an alter boy at St George in Ontario. He camped out in Holcomb Valley several times, that was his first taste of Big Bear. He got his first job at McDonalds at 15. He worked for Vons as a box boy when he was 16 and he was very well liked there. The store manager Richard told us that one day he came in from the parking lot all dirty, and when he asked what had happened, Jonny told him that some lady had a flat tire, which he had changed. Another lady had left her wallet in a shopping cart, and when Jonny had found it and turned it in she wrote a very nice letter to him. We moved to Big Bear while he was in his last year of high school. He finally went down the hill to walk with his friends at Chaffey High School in Ontario. After he graduated he worked several jobs, he installed fireplace mantels, did insulation work and welding. He moved to Big Bear and got married. Worked several different jobs and still always wanted to be a firefighter.
He joined the Navy and went to Great Lakes Illinois for basic and A school. He was trained as a damage control firefighter. He went through the ranks and made Chief. DCC(SW) Jonathan Davis. The Navy was his life, he was dedicated to it and his men. All the people he trained and are now training others are his legacy. Great Chiefs never die! He was a hands on Chief, he made sure they had it no matter how many times he had to go through it with them, no matter how long it would take.He was their advocate, even until the end. They would call him and say Chief I have this problem or that problem, he would always answer, no matter what time of day, and offer any kind of help he could. A Chief is always a Chief. He is a Chief in Heaven, his final deployment completed, he is now home with Jesus We love you son and we will never forget you. You will always be in our hearts.
Mom and Dad.
He passed away on March 6, 2018 at his home in Pearl City Hawaii. He is survived by his mother Brenda, his father Gary, his brother Jason, his daughter Alexis, his sister in law Shady, his nephew Cash and his nieces Summer and Sydnie. He will be greatly missed by all. Especially his Mom and Dad
Love You Jonny, Rest In Peace, Mom and Dad
