John was born January 9th, 1945, in Lakeview New York to Ted & Mary Kocur. The family lived on a small farm & he enjoyed being outside in nature. He loved all kinds of sports, especially baseball. He was athletic and also loved being around water. Boating, swimming, and fishing were some of his pastimes. He attended school there and after graduation joined the Marines. While on duty in Hawaii he met his first wife, Kathy. They had two children, John Jr. & Kelly who reside in California.
During this time, he became a meat cutter and worked for many years in his trade. He retired in 2001 after 30+ years. He continued to work part time after he retired as well.
John later met & married Patsy & had a daughter, Shoanie who lives in Texas.
He met and married Linda in 1986 after moving to Colorado and would have celebrated 38 years of marriage this year. They
lived in Colorado, Las Vegas, Nevada and Big Bear Lake, California. Jack loved Big Bear very much. He was at peace in the trees and enjoyed his animals & being in the forest. He passed peacefully on April 2nd, 2024. He was loved & will be missed. He is survived by his twin sister, Joanne and many nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.
Interment will be at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, California, date and time to be announced soon.
