John was a long-time resident of 40 + years in Big Bear and served with the Sheriff Department and Search and rescue for 5 years.
Many knew him as one of the best Marine Mechanics in Big Bear. His passion was restoring wood boats many would say he was an artist when it came to restoration.
He loved to ride his Harley and talking about cars with his son James.
John faced many disappointments through the years but rose over and over again serving as a great example to many of us on how to persevere with a strong positive but authentic attitude. John's laugh was contagious and calming. Most of his conversations echoed with laughter no matter how hard the content.
Little known fact John also became a pastor and taught many bible studies for the Gathering in Big Bear and later would teach communion at Believers Chapel.
