John Alan Brose, age 86, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2025. He was born on March 18, 1939, in Los Angeles, California.
John made Big Bear Lake, California his home for 52 years, where he built a life rooted in family, hard work, and the simple joys of being outdoors. He spent many years working in the grocery business, known for his strong work ethic, generosity, and friendly nature.
A very kind and generous man, John was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who loved his family deeply and completely. He took great pride in the lives of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his three daughters, Arlene, Debbie, and Laura-Lynn; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense joy.
John is reunited in heaven with the love of his life, his wife Rachelle, who passed away nine years ago. From the day she left this world, he longed to be with her again. He also joins his beloved son Frank and his daughter Dianna, who preceded him in death.
In his early years in Big Bear Lake, John had a deep love for horses and cherished the time he spent horseback riding with his son Frank and his daughter Arlene. He also found peace and happiness in gardening and being outdoors, where he felt most at home.
John will be remembered for his gentle heart, his devotion to his family, and the love he so freely gave. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched and the family he treasured so dearly. He will be missed so much and will be forever in our hearts.
