Gail Woodson Obituary

Our beloved wife, mother, and friend, Gail Anne Woodson, passed away on Monday, January 11th, 2021 at her home in Sugar Loaf, California.  She leaves behind her husband of 25 years Charles Woodson, and her children, Landon & Deanna Tymochko, Dale Tymochko, and “bonus” son Ethan & Randee Woodson.  She was a fiercely proud grandmother to her grandson Austin Tymochko (10) and Anya Tymochko (5).  Gail will also be deeply missed by her surviving older brother Michael Wadsworth, and his loving family, and Gail’s many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

The daughter of Wreatha Jo Wadsworth and Joseph Harry Wadsworth, Gail was born in the city of Los Angeles on June 21st, 1950.  She grew up in Southern California surrounded by her close-knit Irish Catholic family.

After leaving home and getting married, Gail resided in Elk Grove, California for almost 50 year where she was a devoted mother and active in her community. Gail was proud of her educational achievements, receiving both a Bachelors of Science and Master of Science degrees from CSU Sacramento.  She retired after a 20-year career with the State of California.

All who knew her would admit that Gail had a big personality. Many will remember her for her creativity, her unique style, and her passion for life.  She had a curious mind, and a kind heart. She was a historian extraordinaire, who had a deep knowledge of a countless number of subjects. She spent many hours on her various art projects of drawing, painting or needlework, usually while watching one of her favorite classic movies.

Always a southern California girl, Gail truly enjoyed traveling and exploring the world, taking cruises and exploring in their travel trailer with Chuck Woodson, the love of her life.

Thank you to all of the friends and family that have expressed their sorrow for Gail’s loss.  We will be planning a full Celebration of Life for Gail to be held sometime later this year. Additional details about the event will be provided as they are developed.
