Diane Leigh McGinnis
Leigh lived in Big Bear for almost 30 years, after she and her young daughter moved up from Los Angeles.
Her career was in Physical Structural Therapy. She worked with people from elite athletes to famous actors and Warner Brothers executives.
She traveled the globe with Lennox Lewis, the World Heavyweight Champion that knocked out Mike Tyson in 2002
and she worked on Big Bear’s own champion, Olympic runner Ryan Hall. She coached girls’ basketball, and worked on the football teams at Big Bear High School.
She was very involved in the community and her church, even co-hosting an upbeat gospel radio program here at Calvary Chapel.
When she was younger, she bred champion Irish Setter show dogs and raised horses.
A family story goes: she chased her middle brother for a mile or so to get at him for selling horse rides to the neighborhood kids before she would get home.
She was a spirited, big-hearted woman that is beloved and dearly missed.
Leigh is survived by her daughter and two remaining brothers.
